FAQs For Pricing

What are sync credits?
Sync credits are the units of usage of the Knit API. Any create, read, update, or delete (CRUD) operation Knit does on behalf of you on a data record consumes a sync credit.
How do I estimate the sync credits I will need?
A good way to estimate the volume of credits you will need is by looking at the average number of records you sync or update each month.

For example, let's assume that you use Knit for employee data syncs from HRMS systems and have connected two customers with 100 employees each. You use 24-hour syncs for customer 1 while you use 12-hour syncs for customer 2. In this scenario, over the month you will consume 100*30 credits for customer 1 and 100*30*2 credits for customer 2 since Knit reads the data for 100 employees 30 times for customer 1 and 60 times for customer 2.

As another example, if you use Knit for syncing candidate data from ATS platforms and then writing some information like test score back for each candidate, you can estimate the number of jobs created in the source ATS per month and the number of candidates which apply per job to arrive at the sync credits by simply multiplying number of jobs * number of candidates * 2 (2 operations per candidate)
How are sync credits priced?
The price of sync credits depends on the volume of credits you are looking to purchase. The more credits you purchase, the less you pay!
Why does Knit use a sync credit-based pricing?
We believe sync credits to be the most fair and transparent way to price our API. While most other unified API platforms charge a fixed fee per customer (and then limit the data usage using rate limits), we believe that a fixed fee per customer does not take into account the variance in customer size - which means your smaller customers cost the same as your larger ones. This often means you will be excluding your smaller customers from the integrations and automations capabilities your platform can offer.
